The Honeymoon Phase: How to Care for Your New Green Gem

Congratulations, the installation is done and your garden looks like something out of a magazine. You've just invested in transforming your home, and it's normal to feel that mix of pride and slight worry about looking after it properly.

The first 90 days are what we call the "Settling Phase". The sand base and the material itself react to ambient temperatures and daily weight. Here's a plain-common-sense explanation of what to expect and how to care for the grass during this crucial phase.

The Footprint and Furniture Scare

During the first few weeks of heavy use, you might notice some areas look more flattened where the family walks most. The system is still settling into its new reality. The solution is simple: a thorough brushing against the grain with a stiff synthetic-bristle brush. Doing this a couple of times a month will keep the fibre memory alive and vibrant.

The Art of Cooling It Down

Especially early on if it coincides with summer, the grass will radiate natural heat. Your best ally is a light hosing. The water will dissolve ambient dust, settle the silica firmly against the base and instantly lower the temperature. Refreshing and flawless.

Everyday Accidents and Pets

No drama at all. If a drink or ice cream spills, a damp cloth with mild soap sorts it out. And if your cats or dogs have "blessed" the ground, a light hosing with soapy water plus a few drops of suitable disinfectant bleach or scented ammonia will remove everything without damaging the colour or leaving any unwanted smell.

Make the most of your new garden — invite friends over, play, run around. DonCesped's artificial grass is here for you to enjoy, with no compromises.
